Looks like a great lineup for this years Outlook Festival, Europe’s largest bass music and soundsystem culture festival, with the likes of Andy C, Skream, Friction and Hatch, to name just a few.
Check out a video of last years festival for an idea of what to expect.

And it’s good to see it’s not a compilation of the “usual suspects” of tracks. But then, this is a proper D&B compilation remixed by a proper producer!
Can’t wait!
And to wet your apetite for all things RAM Records, here’s a video trailer for forthcoming behind the scenes program on Andy and Ram.
Receiving a disc with Ram Records on it, you know you’re going to experience something awesome, and Loadstar (aka Xample and Lomax) didn’t fail to disappoint.
The release on 27th Septmber 2010 has two tracks, both very different but both excellent pieces of drum & bass. The first track, as it’s name suggests, “Link to the Past” has an old skool drum beat overlayed with a a dirty bassline. Whilst the track kicks off all fluffy, once the bassline (updating the Ram classic “Speed of Sound”) kicks in fluffiness is over making this an awesome track.
Rapidas, is equally dark in bassline terms, but with guitar riffs and a pumping drum beat. Not as good as the Link to the Past but good enough for any drum & bass collection.
Can’t wait for their debut album or indeed the Andy C Nightlife 5 collection that will probably also feature this track.
Noisia has announced that they will be launching their new album “Split the Atom” (which is out on the April 5th) at London’s Fabric on the 9th Apil. They’ll be taking over room 2 and will be supported by Phace, Rockwell, and Andy C.
As for the album, it’s MASSIVE! It opens with their recent release “Machine Gun”, moves on to an awesome drum n bass track (“My World”) which is reminscent of a Roni Size track and goes from strength to strenght from there. Full of deep beats, grungy tweaks and dark basslines this album did not disappoint. There’s a really tasty collaboration with Foreign Beggars too. Overall the album is a mix of techno/electro tracks and drum n bass, actually typically Noisia sounding
And if a new album and launch party is not enough, they also premiered their Essential Mix for Radio One (click the link for the tracklisting); they’ve launched an online video game
Wow, they’ve been busy, cus that’s not all, they’ve relaunched their website and set up an online store.
But that’s enough of that – buy the album it is just awesome, probably one of the best albums I’ve had the pleasure of listening to this year!
