Dance Rockers, Subsource, have released their next single “On My Video” for free download from their site.

The original version is rockier than dance, but the Cellardore remix is a tasty dubstep mash. Check it out below.

And don’t forget they support Foreign Beggars this week in Guildford before embarking on their own European tour on 24th November.

Dubstep rockers, Subsource, have take Nirvanna’s “Breed” and added a dubstep flavour. The track is available for free download (or at least for the price of an email address) via Musicglue.

Whilst, Subsource recognise that interfering with a much loved song may alienate a few people, it will clearly alienate Nirvanna fans, but dubstep fans who like their beats a little rockier will love it.

electro-techno-punk-rockers Subsource have had a busy festival year having appeared at 15 festivals this year, with their GuilFest performance (see video below) being shortlisted for the Virtual Festivals’ Critic’s Choice Award.

You can catch one last live performance in 2010 on the 17th December at The Boileroom, Guildford, and look out for their second album mid-2011.

Anyways check out the GuilFest performance of Queen of the Stoneage’s “Feel Good Hit of the Summer” – with this kind of live performance they’ve got to be up there with the likes of live dance greats like Pendulum for their musical energy and cross-genre sound – excellent!

With the hot single “The Ides” (check out the “Far Too Loud” mix) out on Monday 29th, it seems only fitting to post about Subsource‘s new album “Tales from the Doombox” which is out on April 5th (both on Doombox Records).

It’s a little difficult to explain their music sound other than LOUD. It’s a mix of rock/punky guitars, rap, dark beats and dubstep-like vibes. I guess a mix of Hadouken!, Prodigy with a hint of Foreign Beggars, but that’s not to suggest they’ve not got their own sound, because they have. And it is the fact that each track is in your face all the way through the album that appeals to me.

There seems to be a lot of anger in the way they perform that I’m sure will appeal to many a young person. But it’s that hard hitting energy that keeps on you on the edge of your seat enjoying the audio ride.

There’s some excellent stand out tracks on the album “Some People” and “Parasite” being my favourites.

Bottom line if you enjoy music that is on the edge of a number of genres, perhaps like the rocky angles of Pendulum, the grunge of Prodigy then you’ll love this album. If you want some trance, house or garage then stay away!

If you want a taster of what to expect then check out this free download or check them out live:
27th March – Wonka, Monkey Bar, Swansea
17th April – The Brickyard, Carlisle
19th June – Globe Theatre – Hay on Wye
25th September – The Big Noise, Swansea

Judging by their PR I don’t think these guys like their music to be put into a specific genre, which is good really because it’s pretty difficult to do so anyway.

The four piece group (or five if you count the occasionaly guest appearance by MC Kimba Mutanda) has produced a pretty awesome track actually.

A kind of fusion or perhaps mash-up of dubstep with heavy metal overtones. If The Prodigy were to meet Pendulum and Rusko or Caspa this would probably be the result.

The track is taken from their forthcoming album “Tales from the Doombox” which is released on 5th April and comes in a number of flavours. The darkest, dubstepesque “Far to Loud Remix” and Deezy Remix are by far the best versions, although there’s nothing wrong with the Subterra & Bazil Remix (which you would mistaken to be a Pendulum track) with it’s DnB feel.

Out on the 29th March 2010 on Doombox Records
