Another track from back in May…

Loverush UK! recent masters of the progressive house/trance sound with hits including “5 Reasons” and “Give Me Love” re-release this track from 2007 with plenty of mixes.

The revamped 2010 mix is a progressive and vocal (courtesy of Shelley Harland) as it comes – a nice chilled track that will take you back to Paul van Dyk’s hayday tracks. The original mixes from Kinky Roland Mix, Liquid Nation and Mandy Reid don’t sound as though they’re 3 years old – the Kinky Roland version is probably the best with it’s 80s piano and drumkit riff and it’s tweaks and beeps.

The new remixes (of which there are 4 others) have a rawer sound than the original versions and certainly the Darren Bailie Vs Lime & Bastian Mix takes the 2010 remix and adds harder beats which makes it my favourite of the new mixes.

As I say this was released back in May on Sea to Sun / Loverush Digital

You should recognise the name of Freedom Williams as the co-founder of C&C Music Factory in the 90s. In fact when you hear his rapping on this track you’ll immediately recognise his vocal style.

In fact it is difficult not to draw comparisons with C&C Music Factory as the track has their feel about it. Whilst the original is funky with a 60s style guitar riff, but don’t let that get you down, it comes with a host of remixes: Sted-E and Hybrid Heights turn the tune into a hand raising floor filler with its pulsating horns, whilst Soulshaker take the tune in a completely different direction with a cool house mix with a trance feel to it. Dave Pezza’s version has an excellent raw feel to it, moving away from the funky house beat of the original to a more electro feel – this is probably the best mix.

En El Momento
Greecia (Sted-E)
Captured Moments (Hybrid Heights)

Released 5th October 2009 on Sea To Sun/Loverush Digital

Two of New York’s freshest house producers collaborate on this EP. The opener (and title track) is the collaboration whilst the other two tracks are their own pieces of work.

“En El Momento” is a punchy and upbeat number with a catchy plucky chord riff throughout mixed with beats and a real hypnotic progressive feel. In fact these guys should work together more as this track outshines their solo efforts on this EP.

Sted-E’s “Greecia” has elements of the opening track but less of a pulse and melody, whilst “Captured Moments” is a very nice progressive track with plenty of melody and beat (sorry Sted-E).

Friscia & Lamboy Mix

Released 20th November 2009 on Sun To Sea / Loverush Digital

Whilst the Original version of this track is a good progressive house track, the real version for my liking is the D.H.O.T. Dub mix – it has the vocal samples of Sylvia Tosun against a pounding beat with tasty chords plucking their way through the track. The Friscia & Lamboy mix is also a good version, particularly towards the end with the electro beat.

The track was apparently inspired by the classic TV show Twin Peaks – although it’s been a while since I saw it last, there’s nothing here that reminds me of the show, but hey, why worry about that, the track after all is pretty good and with a good selection of mixes.
